Homemade Scrolling Lamp

One day I walked into the Office Depot down the street and found this lamp on the sale rack, in fact they had about 100 of them, all for $1.99.

Now I almost bought ten of them right on the spot but I decided that I would buy one to see if I could make something out of it before I bought the rest.. Well this is what I made..

I used the external shade and the spinning top from the transparency which I think was Stock Market Symbols. I replaced the transparency with images from a road trip that I was on and now the eighteen wheeler at sunset and neon lights of Reno revolve around the white simple shade.

I never went back to get the other lamps.. One was enough for me..
