“Interactive Infrasonic Installation”, 2007-2008 by Reinhard Gupfinger combines a 250-inch long organ pipe, a wind generator and a video-tracking interface for multi-user interaction. Pace and direction of the movements of users create a variable subsonic environment.
“Garden of Eden”, 2007 by Wollle shows eight pedestals, each of which is covered with an airtight Plexiglas box. Via the internet, the latest air pollution levels in the capitals of the G8-countries are obtained. The system reproduces these levels artificially inside these boxes, each of which contains a lettuce that serves an indicator of the quality of the air inside the capsules.
“Wissengewächs”, 2007 by Laurent Mignonneau and Christa Sommerer. Sensors measure the passerby’s presence and movements. A growth software relates these movements to the growth of artificial plants on the screens.
The picture of two trains moving in opposite directions is exposed to the continuing process of digital compression. By first importing and then exporting the material of five seconds length into the software, the information of the footage is diminished step by step until the formerly concrete image vanishes into white. “Import/Export” by Wolfgang Bittner and Florian Kindlinger.
“Teleklettergarten” – The facade of the art university in Linz was converted into a climing wall with oversized keyboard keys and buttons as a input interface for a computer. The visitors who participated in Teleklettergarten passed through a trainee programm and where trained as software developers. Through physical commitment the climbers and the programmers collaboratively inputed code into an oversized programming environment. In a week-long performance the collaborators programmed codes, scripts and tools and demonstrated various software functions. A collaboration between Bitnik and the group FOK.
