To Fill The Sky. A series of seven fireworks were set off within a metal container with a glass front, the dimensions of an average television set. When played back, the usual televisual distance is shattered, and the events appear to be happening inside the television itself, perhaps even the product of the television in breakdown.

In the instalation »in honour of a new affair«, a needle is installed above each recordplayer that connects the vinyl with the large pieces of paper. The sound of the records are being transported to the paper and the paper makes it audible. The needle constantly changes its position, due to the wind. All three projects by Jeroen Diepenmaat.




Something New is an informal art event that requires no budget or institution or anything apart from the will of the participants. Deadline is 5th november, the day of the event, but don’t wait for the last minute!

»Escape Vehicle no.6« shows the launching of a weather balloon with a domestic chair dangling in space beneath it, making a journey from the ground to the edge of space (30km up). The footage shows the chair first rush away from the fields and roads, ascend through clouds and finally (against the curvature of the earth and the blackness of space) begin to disintegrate.
