Listed in Yelping Over Here, Yelping Over ThereThings I don't eat: pigs, cows. That's the whole list. It still perplexes so many people. I don't know why.
Drinks I don't really enjoy: beer. I don't know why. It perplexes me.
Things the Germans like: pigs, cows, beer. Do you see a conflict of interest? A word of advice to Elites and non-Elites alike (ask your friends to bring you!) - sometimes, you've got to share the wealth: This is why you have +1s, or +2s!
This place was enormous, there were ten beers on tap, you had tons of food coming your way on plates and at the buffet stations; smiling, courteous, and costumed waitstaff; live music; a photo booth; and swag. Ample parking was provided, which I failed to find but was able to park right around the corner. The owner came out to greet me at one point when the night was ending, which was sweet. I apologetically informed him I hadn't really had anything to eat or drink apart from pretzels, but he kept conversing with me anyway. The few bites I had tasted were quite good, if starchy.* Blame the Germans, not the restaurant. Because the venue has a huge outdoor space, smoking Yelpers and their friends were able to bond and keep my drifter of a +1, Scott H., company.
I think he jumped on top of Kyle W. at one point. How's your back?
I had been MIA from Yelp for a few months prior to this event, and it was a perfect reintroduction - even though I didn't recognize a lot of people, the Long Islanders were friendly and Jando, Nelson, and Matt were welcoming and attentive as ever. Do I have any complaints? Yeah, I guess I wish some more Yelpers had been willing to trek it out considering the square footage we had at our disposal and make this an even bigger party. Then maybe people could have danced. I...would not have, but someone should have. There was more than enough room. Hint, hint for next time.
*I started this review that night, but got food coma from all the carbs and fell very asleep. -

Great huge venue!! The location a little further out than most of us go, but it was actually a really easy commute from work for me so I lucked out :)
I loved the space, it was huge and open but sectioned off in a way that it didn't feel like a big empty open room.
Unlimited draft beer!?! I'm a happy girl :) The bartenders were extremely friendly, helpful and nice. The servers passing around hors d'oeuvres were also very friendly :) Unlike most events where yelpers circle and dive in like vultures, there were so many servers and so much food that you actually saw many people turning down additional bites!
I think I ate at least 20 mac n cheese bites. So good :)
The two buffet stations were an awesome yelp first and made sure that no one left hungry.
What's not to love about photobooths?! The line went quick too!
Jando was an awesome host and everyone was very friendly. I wish us yelpers intermingled a bit more, it seemed like every one was mostly sticking to their own groups. -

Listed in Yelp Events 2013This place is gorgeous.
I never really had German cuisine before this event but I know I'm going to get cravings for the meat with curry sauce and the pretzel sliders. All the food was great from the fluffy pretzels to the mustard (I don't normally like mustard but the one they had here was really good) to the variety of meats and veal schnitzel.
My plus one, Yael, and I really liked the Angry Orchard cider but Yael really loved the macaroni and cheese nuggets. The server who was carrying the macaroni nuggets most of the night always made a special trip to us to ask if Yael wanted any more of them. The rest of the staff was also very accommodating and friendly.
The live music was very good and I loved Sweet Booths.
Thank you to Jando, Matthew, and Plattduetsche Park Restaurant for a fun night! -

So much yummy food and drinks! Unfortunately I couldn't drink too much but tried the draft Spaten Optimator. It was delicious, really creamy and fresh and definitely a lot better than the bottle version. I really enjoyed the (plentiful) food, especially the warm and gooey mac and cheese bites and the german pretzel. The currywurst was surprisingly delicious; would definitely get that again. The venue was huge and had a lot of rustic charm; I can see them getting booked for weddings and other events. This was an epic event, was very impressed; thanks Jando for another awesome event!!

We should have YelptoberFest every month! This awesome venue reminds me of bierhouses of Munich, it's a very large and spacious, nicely decorated with Bavarian colors. The event was flawless, tons and tons of food and of course plenty of beers to choose from. The servers did a wonderful job surpassed only by the Yelp team. What a great event!

Another great casual event. 8 beers on tap, lager or wheat beers. The beer went well with the varying array of sausages and veal weiner snitzel with 3 different types of gravy.
Nice indoor/outdoor venue but I really enjoyed the under appreciated guitarist. Still a great night with some cool people. -

Listed in Yelp's 100 challenge!First Queens Yelp Event and certainly not my last!
Yelp CM Jando and Plattduetsche Park GM Matt made this a night to remember. They were both so passionate about what they do that I got swept away in the excitement. They took the time to introduce themselves, talk with us and share their passion.
All the people serving us were wonderful. You know how hard it is to pull together a staff of bartenders, waiters and leaders that all had good attitudes? Amazing! (I could learn something from them). I had the opportunity to try food and beer that i never had before and it just kept coming! I loved the veal cutlets the most and the three gravies that came with it. The spaetzle was really good too. I also tried a bunch of "wursts" that were quite interesting. So many different flavor profiles. And let's not forget the beer! I never heard of any of them but I had a good time sampling them. We had so much fun! Thank you Thank You Thank You!
I was so impressed with the restaurant that I took Mike there on Saturday for a beer!

Another 5 star event from Yelp Queens, what's new?? The venue was HUGE. the food was awesome and plentiful. If I didn't have to drive, I would've also tried every beer they had on tap. Live music and outdoor seating was available too. How could it possibly get any better??

The bacon/bratwurst sandiwiches on pretzel buns and the mac-n-cheese bites were so delicious that I would consider hosting a wedding reception here just to see trays of those apps again. Not that I'm in danger of getting married anytime soon, ha ha. But I would jump at the chance to party here again, in the big Biergarten with the outdoor tables, indoor tables, balcony, stage, etc. Very versatile space!

This event was a blast! I've long been a fan of the Plattduetsche and this new beer hall is bound to blow things out of the WATER! I prefer to come here and drink instead of schlepping to Astoria. Great beers on tap, great space, great everything! I can't wait to come back!
